About us

The genome group at the University of Maryland is part of the Institute for Physical Science and Technology. We are an interdisciplinary team, developing techniques for higher quality genomes.

Our 24Gb genome of Loblolly Pine is the largest genome ever assembled. Currently we are assembling a 30 Gb sugar pine genome.
